JordiJordi started his PhD in International Management in September 2011 under Florian Wettstein’s supervision at the Institute for Business Ethics.

Jordi is thrilled by questions such as:

  • Should companies play an active role in the promotion of Justice (i.e. Human Rights)?
  • If multinational corporations are gaining leadership in front of the languishing role of States in the world order, what are the corporations responsibilities in regards to justice and Human Rights from a philosophical and ethical perspective?
  • What are the limits of such hypothetical corporate’s responsibilities?

He holds a Bachelor and a Master in Business Administration by ESADE Business School and a Master of Research in Political and Social Science at Pompeu Fabra University. Since 2009 Jordi has collaborated with the Institute for Social Innovation at ESADE as researcher and lecturer on CSR and sustainability topics.

Before engaging into academia Jordi gained professional experience for 3 years. First at Deloitte as analyst at the Transaction Advisory Services Department and subsequently at Hewlett Packard at the Marketing (WW) and Supply Chain (EMEA) divisions for the Large Format Printing Business.

Jordi is also keen on inclusive businesses and development topics and since 2010 is collaborating with the Laboratorio Base de la Pirámide and Global CAD consultancy in Spain. He regularly writes at the NextBillion en Español blog.

A part from his studies, Jordi has two passions: Music and Mountanering. In his spare time when he is not playing the alto sax or listening to Dexter Gordon he might be running in the low hills of St Gallen or lost somewhere in the Pyrenees of his home land Catalonia. So meet him in a jazz club or in a mountain hut!
