oikos Jamshedpur partnered with the Ability Unlimited Foundation (AUF), a Delhi based foundation, to raise funds for differently abled children, as part of Valhallla 2014, the Sports & cultural festival. Ability Unlimited Foundation is doing truly commendable work in reaching out to differently-abled citizens of all age groups right from providing them all amenities, education, vocational training and meaningful opportunities to earn their livelihoods. Valhalla 2014 flagged off on the evening of the 25th of July with the Ability Unlimited Concert at the inaugural event. The Chief Guest for the inauguration was Guru Syed Sallauddin Pasha, Director of the Ability Unlimited Foundation.

The show began with a Sufi dance performance on wheels followed by Bharatnatyam on wheels with the performers striking some unforgettable poses. The performers went on the showcase their prowess in yoga and the Manipuri martial arts form, Thang Ta on wheels leaving the audience, numbering well in excess of a 1000, who had packed the auditorium, in complete awe. The show culminated with a scintillating performance on Vande Mataram. The event was not just entertaining but also went a long way to showcase that the wheel chair is not a symbol of disability rather a beacon of unlimited abilities. Oikos Jamshedpur, as part of its initiative to inspire the young sparks of the nation, invited students and faculty of around 40 schools from across the city to be a part of the Ability Unlimited Concert. The event saw a foot-fall of close to 1,100 people with more than 600 of them coming from outside the institute. The event was well covered & appreciated by all the leading English, Hindi & Bengali newspapers including The Telegraph, The Pioneer, Dainik Bhaskar, Dainik Jagran, Prabhat Khabar & Anand Bazaar Patrika.
