“Earth is 4.6 billion years old. Scaling to 46 years, we have been here for 4 hours and our industrial revolution began just 1 minute ago… in that time we have destroyed more than 50% of the world’s forests. This is not sustainable.”

oikos International – Kolkata Chapter is proud to launch the Sustainability Campaign at IIM Calcutta. Aimed at directly targeting electricity wastage in classrooms and office (by not switching off the lights and hibernating the computers after use), water wastage, littering of campus and so on, the campaign, carried out with joint effort from student body, faculty body and administrative body, is a much-needed response to emerging environmental concerns. A competition will be organized. Students (individual/team) will come up with effective slogans aimed at calling forth campus citizens to make IIM Calcutta greener. The chosen slogans adjudicated by faculty judges will be used to design posters of standard sizes and such posters of top 5 teams will be put up at various locations across the campus.
