Oikos Lund is looking for people interested in sustainable economics and management to help develop the organisation into a real game-changer at Lund University. We aim to spread knowledge regarding sustainability on a small and large scale, but to do so, we need motivated students to join our innovative committees! The modus aperandi within Oikos Lund is CREATIVITY – we are an organisation that operates on being professional, but we also never stop looking for newer and better ways of doing things. If you have ideas, we want them. If you want to help out, great! If you are interested in the message of sustainability and want to become involved in our innovative student organisation, sign up for one of our committees today!

For this round, we are mainly looking for interested members for the External Relations Committee, the Marketing & Communication Committee and for a head of the Human Resource Committee. If you however, have a strong preference for the Finance or Human Resource committee let us know why and you can still send an application in!

 JOB DESCRIPTIONS


External Relations:

The External Relations committee is in charge of planning project events (lectures, workshops, case competitions etc.). It also develops sponsorship/trade/business arrangements and relationships with businesses, individuals and organizations interested in supporting oikos Lund’s events and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential partners and initiates relationships, expand organization network and pursue opportunities for expanding reach
  • Maintaining strategic partnerships with university, professional associations, firms etc.
  • Maintain good public image
  • Coordinating events, plan projects (lectures, workshops, visits to other organizations or institutions…)
  • Collaborate and expand relations with other student organizations

What we are looking for

  • Committed and driven volunteer with a to-do attitude
  • Eagerness to learn and improve your skills & knowledge within sustainability
  • High degree of independence and dynamism
  • Act as liaison between Oikos and external partners
  • Work well in groups and bring creative ideas for projects to be organized along the year
  • Interpersonal skills and professional conduct
  • Preferably available during the academic year of 2018/2019 as well
  • Bachelor or Master Student at Lund University

Marketing and Communications:

Oikos Lund Marketing & Communications plans and executes the marketing strategy and initiatives, both internal and external to drive engagement and retention.

Responsibilities

  • Plan the branding strategy
  • Develop and implement marketing plans and materials
  • Write, submit and follow-up to ensure placement on press releases and stories to established and potential contacts
  • Maintenance of the communication channels (website, Facebook, blog, etc.) along with Communications
  • Maintain and broaden social networking

What we are looking for

  • Committed and driven volunteer with a to-do attitude
  • Eagerness to learn and improve your skills & knowledge within sustainability
  • High degree of Independence
  • Interpersonal skills and professional conduct
  • Knowledge of graphic design (ideally) and use of social media platforms
  • Bachelor or Master Student at Lund University
  • Preferably available during the academic year of 2018/2019 as well

We are particularly looking for individuals with experience in website design and blog writing!

Human Resources:

Recruits oikos members and ensure that the communication and the relationships between members are optimal. The Human Resources committee is responsible for recruiting potential oikos members and for handling any issues connected to HR.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a chapter continuity and Recruitment strategy
  • Writing the advertisements of open positions
  • Head of HR report to the Board of oikos Lund any HR-related issues.
  • Ensure that the relationships between all oikos members are favorable
  • Organization of events to recruit members (together with Marketing/Communication)
  • Serves as contact persons for any issues within the teams
  • Participation in oikos meetings (board meeting every week)

What we are looking for

  • Quality of mediator
  • Preferably available during the academic year of 2018/2019
  • Bachelor or Master Student at Lund University

Finance:

The Treasury committee is the part of the organisation that is keeping proper records of the oikos Lund financial transactions in accordance with current accepted accounting rules and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Developing control procedures and records
  • Applying for finances/funding through foundations, scholarships etc.
  • Preparing the budget
  • Guide a team with other members that is responsible to establish a strong budget for oikos Lund
