oikos – the international student-driven organization for sustainability in economics and management – comprises more than 40 chapters at universities worldwide with one joint mission: to integrate sustainability into education and research of economics and management. Our activities are driven by the voluntary engagement of more than 1000 student members and supported by an international team based at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.

Your role

As the manager for operations you provide a key pillar for our work and impact. You manage the operations in our international office in St. Gallen, and you are deeply involved in organizing our international programs. You also have a driving seat in our communication and engagements with various stakeholders. You work closely with the presidents of oikos International and the oikos foundation as well as further members of our team. In particular, your responsibilities include the following:

  • Managing the international operations of oikos including accounting, IT, and HR
  • Collaborating with the team in the organization of key international events and programs – in particular the oikos FutureLab
  • Managing external communications, including contact management, email campaigns, and the oikos newsletter
  • Coordinating public relations, reaching out to different media and updating the website
  • Engaging with a broad network of oikos alumni, working in teams with volunteers
  • Managing logistical tasks for conferences and meetings, including booking hotels, caterers, and travel

What we are looking for

  • Passion for and knowledge about sustainability in economics and management
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Excellent English and very good German skills, both spoken and written
  • Engaging communication skills
  • Energy, focus and team spirit
  • A minimum commitment for 6 months
