Harriet Jackson – President 2011

Harriet Jackson studied Government and Economics at the London School of Economics, specialising in Environmental Economics and the Economics of the European Union. Her particular sustainability interests are transportation and investigating how we can use communication and behavioural economics to drive change. Harriet previously was an oikos Student Reporter at the World Resources Forum in Davos, and took part in the INEX Sustainability Leadership Summer University 2010. Harriet also enjoys playing piano, cycling, and cooking.

Grzegorz Borkowski

Grzegorz has just graduated from Warsaw School of Economics in Corporate Finance and  currently is pursuing his Master’s Degree in Finance at the same university. His is particularly interested in Mergers and Acquisitions, therefore his Bachelor’s thesis tackled the issue  of value creation through M&A. Being a finance student, Grzegorz wants to deepen his knowledge concerning sustainable investment and  impact of CSR on company performance as well as value. Since 2008 Grzegorz is an active member of oikos Warsaw and has been involved in many projects organized by the Chapter. In 2009 he was elected oikos Warsaw President.  In the free time he likes  doing  any kinds of sports, hiking, and reading travel books. Grzegorz is responsible for the oikos Local Chapters in Oslo, Bratislava, Warsaw, Prague, Opole, Moscow and Tbilisi.

Eike Haas

Eike Haas studies Business Economics at Witten/Herdecke University, Germany, and also joined the MBA exchange program of IPADE, Mexico. He became a member of oikos in 2008 and was elected as president of oikos Witten/Herdecke in 2009. Besides administrative tasks, he contributed to several projects, such as the oikos Bachelor Thesis Award, and the oikos Climate Curricula Challenge. Prior to studying in Witten, Eike worked for PlaNet Finance, a Microfinance Group, at their offices in Paris and in India. He also gained work experience within the field of carbon emissions when issuing three Product Carbon Footprints for an industrial bakery in Germany. Eike’s hobbies are acting, playing piano, and soccer. Eike is responsible for the oikos Local Chapters in Hamburg, Witten, Paderborn, Cologne, Maastricht, Nyenrode, Clausthal and Tübingen.

Ajith Kaliyath

Ajith is a PhD student in the School of Geography, Archaeology and Palaeoecology, Queens University Belfast, UK. Ajith’s PhD research is on Sustainable Cities focussing on Chennai (India).  Ajith was oikos Belfast President (2009) and was also instrumental in setting up oikos chapters in Chennai, Ahmedabad, New Delhi and Cochin. Ajith has one Masters Degree in Applied Geography from University of Madras, India and another professional Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from School of Planning, CEPT University, India. He is a British Chevening Scholar. Ajith has 12 years of professional experience which includes 4 years as Programme Coordinator of Indo-German Environment Programme jointly implemented by the Indian Ministry of Environment and Forests and German Technical Cooperation. His focus has been environmental management of urban and industrial systems. He has keen interest in entrepreneurship for sustainable management of the environment. He is member of  Euro-India Centre, Regional Studies Association and International Association for Society and Natural Resources. Ajith is responsible for the oikos Chapters in Graz, Budapest, Bayreuth, St Gallen, Constance, Zagreb, Monrovia and Johannesburg.

Kate Negacz

Kate Negacz studies International Economics at the Warsaw School of Economics and Law at  the University of Warsaw, Poland.  As a person strongly involved in the social aspects of sustainability she became a member of oikos Warsaw at the beginning of  her studies. Her interests in international relations, sustainability, world economic politics are closely connected with the sustainable development. She was an organiser and a participant of many oikos programmes such as Spring and Autumn Meetings, PLP, PDF. She works with many different academic organisations: oikos Warsaw, Amnesty International, Student Society for Foreign Affairs and Student Society for Corporate Finance. She was the oikos president in 2009. Kate is responsible for the oikos Chapters in Ahmedabad, Kochi, Chennai, Kolkata, Sylhet, Dhaka and New Delhi.

Salik Shadab

Salik is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta with a focus on Strategic Management. Prior to this, he completed his Bachelor of Management Studies from St. Xavier’s College Bombay where he specialised in Finance & Econometrics. During his studies, he developed a keen interest in Business Sustainability, Emissions Trading & Environmental Economics. He is the Founder & President of oikos Kolkata, which is involved in multiple campus projects aimed at energy reduction, waste management, environment conservation & integration of sustainability in management curriculum. He is an oikos PLP participant, leading the organisation of the oikos Asia Meet which will be a platform for oikos chapters from across the globe to work towards the promotion of sustainability in economics & management in Asia.  Salik is responsible for oikos Local Chapters in Paris, Reims, London, Belfast, Barcelona, Ashland and Brussels.
