oikos Warsaw - polish local chapter of oikos International founded at Warsaw School of Economics, Poland, in 1998 as a Students Scientific Circle for Sustainable Development. We associate students of economics, finance and management that are interested in sustainability and social responsibility of business.
oikos International is an international students organization consisting of 40 official chapters all around the world. The organization was established in 1987 in Switzerland thanks to studens of the University of St. Gallen. The aim of founders was to promote socialy sustainable, cost-effective but also environmentaly-friendly resources management.
In Warsaw School of Economics we we work in cooperation with Economic Geography Departament and especially Dr. Ewa Taylor who is the tutor of our organization. Our numerous alumni succeeded in their working careers being involved in developing CRS strategies for different companies as well as being active in other fields.
oikos promotes sustainable development which means such natural resources, human capital and economic activities management which guarantees more stability but also more diversity of our natural and economic environment. The main purpose of oikos International is to popularize the knowledge about sustainable development among academics of leading business schools and universities.
Our projects in Warsaw School of Economics focus on diversified topics. We try to encourage representatives of business, politics, NGOs and science to participate in the discussion and to create a neutral platform enabling all the participants to exchange their ideas concerning sustainable development.
