An international focus group to boost the network’s impact on the Transforming Education field.

What is Transforming Education?

We envision higher education that prepares youth to navigate complexity, and grow into the leaders of
an economic system that generates positive environmental and social outcomes. Students play a key
role in this systemic shift: with the sustainability challenge at hand, there now is an open window for
young change agents to take ownership of their education and make change happen in real-time. Accompanied by early career researchers, lecturers and together with other allies, students have the capacity to influence the why, what and how of teaching and learning.

When the world needs to change, teaching needs to change

We strive for transformations in business and economics education that go deep in terms of purpose,
content and methodologies. At the core of the transformations we envision: relationships and new
narratives that are driven by student change agents

What is the Transforming Education (TE) Squad?

The TE Squad is like a warm, welcoming home where students and local oikos chapters come together to support each other in their shared dream of changing education for the better. In this friendly and caring environment, they talk about their challenges, build strong bonds of trust and friendship, and work together on projects that aim to improve education. It's a place where people express their feelings, have heartfelt conversations, value knowledge, and create partnerships driven by their deep passion to make education even better.

How do we meet?

At the heart of the TE Squad, you'll find our monthly meetings. These online gatherings are like a warm embrace for our members, where they come together with enthusiasm to share their projects, offer each other valuable feedback, and ignite passionate brainstorming sessions aimed at transforming education. These meetings are not just informative; they're emotionally charged, interactive, and designed to adapt to the unique needs of our members, creating an atmosphere of collaboration and genuine connection.

For me, the TE-squad meetups have always been a great source of inspiration and motivation. Every month (except May), we met online to discuss interesting topics. I loved listening to the stories and advice from the experts, but also from oikees from other chapters. No matter whether we spoke about challenges and insecurities we’re facing in transforming education and possible solutions to them, about rethinking economics, or about inside- and outside lobbying– I always learned a lot. I also really enjoyed how interactive and open the dialogue was. What is more, I experienced these meetups as a safe space where everybody feels seen and welcomed. All in all, I am looking forward to our next meeting – and to everything that is still going to come!
