chapter catalyst

Our youth leadership development Program LEAP acts as a Chapter Catalyst that supports students in developing a form of leadership that is rooted in purpose, self-awareness, and the ability to guide meaningful change within their chapters and institutions. Instead of relying on traditional models, the program cultivates the inner and relational capacities that enable students to work with complexity, hold direction, and create healthy team cultures. Through reflection, dialogue, and real-world practice, students learn how to lead with intention, build trust, and mobilize their peers around projects that matter. This approach strengthens the depth and continuity of their chapters by nurturing leaders who understand themselves, understand their context, and understand how to move a community forward.

chapter incubator

The Chapter Incubator supports students in starting a new oikos chapter by developing the essential skills needed to build an impact-driven organization and community within their university. Students learn how to identify opportunities for change on their campus, bring together a committed team, articulate a shared purpose, and design initiatives that respond to the needs and dynamics of the context they are in. Throughout the program, they explore how universities function as systems, practice collaborative decision-making, and gain hands-on experience in turning ideas into impactful action. The Incubator equips students to create something that lasts: an engaged chapter with the confidence, clarity, and structure to begin shaping positive change in their learning environment.

chapter accelerator

The Chapter Accelerator supports established chapters in deepening their impact and strengthening their continuity. Through year-round training, peer learning, and mentorship, chapter teams develop the capacity to lead effectively, run ambitious projects, and engage constructively with their institutions. Students refine their strategic thinking, improve team collaboration, and gain practical tools to create institutional shifts: whether through curriculum change, student-faculty projects, or campus engagement. The Accelerator helps chapters move from “active” to “impactful,” ensuring they thrive over time and leave a legacy that outlives any single leadership team.

conferences

Once a year, the global oikos community comes together for an International Chapter Conference that blends learning, celebration, and collaboration. Hosted by a different chapter each year, the conference gathers oikos chapter members and alumni from across continents to share their initiatives, learn from diverse perspectives, and co-create new ideas for transforming education and society. It is a moment when local stories become global inspiration, and the connections formed here fuel countless new projects, friendships, and leadership journeys. The conference is one of the most powerful expressions of the oikos spirit and community energy.

alumni community

With nearly four decades of history, oikos has developed a vibrant alumni network spanning academia, entrepreneurship, consulting, policy, finance, and social innovation. Our alumni continue to stay connected, contributing their experience, mentorship, and perspectives to support current students and chapters. Many return as coaches, partners, speakers, or collaborators, creating a living bridge between generations of oikos members. This community ensures that the impact of oikos does not end at graduation: it evolves, multiplies, and re-enters the ecosystem through countless pathways.

partnerships & advocacy

oikos amplifies the voices and insights of students in the global arena shaping the future of business and economics education. We collaborate with key organizations such as PRME, the Positive Impact Rating, UN HESI-SAG, the Copernicus Alliance, GRLI – Global Responsible Leadership Initiative, and a wide network of universities to bring student experiences into dialogues about educational transformation. Through these partnerships, oikos contributes real cases from chapters, participates in high-level events, and supports global efforts to shift management and economics education toward regenerative, just, and future-ready paradigms. This work ensures that what happens inside chapters does not remain local: it becomes part of a broader movement for systemic change.
