An oikos Chapter is a local, self-organized group of students that comes together to create initiatives that support our common mission of embedding sustainability into economics and management education. oikos Chapters independently define their structure, leadership, recruitment and projects, while internationally they play a key role in the decision-making process and defining the strategic direction of oikos international.
oikos International plays a supportive role to oikos Chapters, stewarding the international community, providing experience and expertise, as well as resources that help student members learn, develop their leadership skills and create local impact.
oikos has a historic footprint at over 90 universities in Africa, Asia, Europe and North America, with 29 chapters currently open and a few more in the making. Each chapter is shaped by its student members and the local context. Varying in size and structure, they reflect the ideals and aspirations of its members and act as living organisms, constantly reinventing themselves and adapting to the current local and global dynamic.
