The core of our work are programs designed to equip oikos students with the capacities that make them into actors of change on their local campuses. These programs train students to strategize, plan and run projects, equipping them with the leadership skills and organizational competencies, that find a practical use in their oikos Chapters’ local activities, engaging in transforming economics and business education. Skills learned are valuable beyond graduation, laying foundation for the students’ development into responsible leaders and decision-makers in the future.
Once a year, the global oikos community comes together for an International Chapter Conference that blends learning, celebration, and collaboration. Hosted by a different chapter each year, the conference gathers oikos chapter members and alumni from across continents to share their initiatives, learn from diverse perspectives, and co-create new ideas for transforming education and society. It is a moment when local stories become global inspiration, and the connections formed here fuel countless new projects, friendships, and leadership journeys. The conference is one of the most powerful expressions of the oikos spirit and community energy.

With nearly four decades of history, oikos has developed a vibrant alumni network spanning academia, entrepreneurship, consulting, policy, finance, and social innovation. Our alumni continue to stay connected, contributing their experience, mentorship, and perspectives to support current students and chapters. Many return as coaches, partners, speakers, or collaborators, creating a living bridge between generations of oikos members. This community ensures that the impact of oikos does not end at graduation: it evolves, multiplies, and re-enters the ecosystem through countless pathways.

We collaborate with key organizations such as PRME, the Positive Impact Rating, UN HESI-SAG, the Copernicus Alliance, GRLI – Global Responsible Leadership Initiative, and a wide network of universities to bring student experiences into dialogues about educational transformation. Through these partnerships, oikos contributes real cases from chapters, participates in high-level events, and supports global efforts to shift management and economics education toward regenerative, just, and future-ready paradigms. This work ensures that what happens inside chapters does not remain local: it becomes part of a broader movement for systemic change.
