We are continuously looking for volunteers in the following areas:
- Fundraising
- IT
- Alumni
- Communication and Marketing
- Organizational Development
- Case Stories
Required Competencies and Skills
… the ability to work fully remote – with a stable internet connection, your personal laptop & equipment needed; a good command of online tools such as Google Workspace, Zoom, Miro, etc.; willingness to learn working with online tools and an openness to work & connect with your colleagues and the community over Zoom.
… a high level of self-organization – planning & managing your tasks and work and holding yourself accountable; being proactive and able to anticipate needs of the organization & community; as well as a sensitivity to deadlines.
… a proficiency in English in writing & speaking – all your projects will be in English; if you speak other languages that is a plus, but not a must.
… an openness to co-create – with other fellow volunteers, employees and further stakeholders (e.g. partner organizations)
… a dedication to learning – in oikos we believe that we are always learning and we see the organization as a playground where we try new things and sometimes fail, but then learn from it and move on. Therefore, we are looking for someone with a learning attitude and the ability to reflect, review & adapt.
Team Description
Volunteers are autonomous members of the International team, trusted with a set of roles and responsibilities of their own. They usually maintain support functions for the day-to-day operations of oikos and its community, but also ensure our long-term impact with some more in-depth projects. Depending on the area, they work togeter with one or more circles and employees and/or other volunteers.
For example, we currently have a couple of volunteers supporting the IT circle in its daily endeavour to support the oikos community with IT infrastructure.
Furthermore, we are regulalry having people supporting our communications team. Another volunteer was supporting us in establishing our community platform, the internal online structure that enables our community to communicate and grow together towards a greater impact.
