Dear oikos Community, we are delighted to present you the four candidates for the next oikos International Board!
Shivam Chugh – oikos Jamshedpur
Hi! I am Shivam, and I have always loved numbers and the world in its beautiful astronomical extremities. This led me to pursue Physics & Mathematics at St. Stephen’s College, and later Experimental Nuclear Physics. Currently, I am a Business Management student at XLRI Jamshedpur and serving as the Secretary of SIGMA-oikos Jamshedpur, I have led numerous initiatives in the realm of sustainability and creating a positive societal impact. As part of the oikos International team, I aspire to leverage my strengths in leadership, strategic thinking, and community-building to contribute meaningfully to oikos International’s mission.
Maria Pawłowicz – oikos Warsaw
I’m based in Warsaw, graduate of 2 bachelor’s degrees: Global business, finance and governance and Psychology. I’m currently exploring various employment opportunities in the sustainability field. I thrive in dynamic and diverse settings where I can contribute to broadening perspectives and driving positive change. I take a multidimensional approach to sustainability, with a strong focus on its social aspects. My passion for sports and travel complements my open-minded nature, allowing me to connect with people from various backgrounds.
Antonia Pohlmann – oikos Graz
Maryam Wali – oikos Kano
Maryam Sadiq Wali is a passionate advocate for sustainability, youth empowerment, and legal advocacy. Born and raised in Kano, Nigeria, she is currently pursuing a law degree at Bayero University, Kano. Maryam actively leads initiatives focused on environmental responsibility, including her Second Stitch Project, which transforms fabric waste into economic products. She has launched various programs on personal development within her community that inspire growth and leadership. Outside of her work, Maryam enjoys nature, art, and DIY projects, and she aspires to further explore her passion for writing as a tool for change.
Iqra Zubair – oikos Nottingham
Hi, I’m Iqra, an Economics student working in RWE, a sustainability leading energy company. I was the former president for oikos Nottingham chapter, which I revived after 2 years of inactivity. I have multiple experiences in the sustainability industry, from speeches in conferences to hands-on charity work. With 5 years experience in social media freelancing I would love to bring creativity into the team.
When not busy, you will find me travelling, exploring different cultures, taking pictures or crafting.
I am very excited to continue my journey with oikos International.
The next oikos Board will be elected at the Legislative Meeting on 26 October. Each chapter needs to register a representative in order to vote on its behalf.
