New oikos International President Elected

Last Friday, on April 10 at the oikos Legislative Assembly held online the new oikos International President was elected for a term 2020-2022.

The candidates were – Joan Alexander Olivella Martinez from oikos Barcelona, Mehraj Ali from oikos Baku and Sophie Charrois from oikos Reutlingen.

With the majority vote of present chapter representatives Sophie Charrois was elected as the new oikos President. She will officially take office in November 2020.

We would like to congratulate Sophie and wish her good luck in her term and also thank Mehraj and Joan for being amazing candidates and providing good competition.

oikos Bangalore becomes full oikos Chapter

Last Friday, on April 10 at the oikos Legislative Assembly held online the local oikos Chapter from the Indian city of Bangalore was approved the Full Chapter status.

The Full Chapter status will give the representatives of oikos Bangalore voting rights on future Legislative Assembies officially fully integrating the chapter into the oikos Community. We are delighted to see that the representatives have recognized the devotion and hard work of the chapter and are proud to have oikos Bangalore in our oikos family.

Congratulations to the oikos members from Bangalore, we wish them best of luck in their future projects and in further supporting the oikos Mission and Vision.

LEAP Open Webinar with Katherine Milligan

PIR Student Engagement Coordinator Position Opening


PIR Student Engagement Coordinator

Application Deadline: April 26th 2020

Starting Date: Ideally Early May 2020

Duration: 1 year

Type of position: Volunteer  (10h/week)

Position

We are looking for an independent, flexible, and resourceful volunteer who is eager to get international experience working remotely and commit long-term to ensure the engagement of students all over the world in the Positive Impact Rating.

Profile:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree student
  • Good command of the English language
  • Good command of Office Suite and familiarity with Google Drive. 
  • Interest and commitment to the oikos vision and mission
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to anticipate needs, solve problems in a collaborative environment and sensitivity to deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
  • Ability to protect confidential and sensitive information of the organization

Student coordination:

  • Reaching out to and coordinating international and local student organizations from business schools all over the world to participate in the rating
  • Follow-up on the collaboration with rated business schools to move to action, after PIR publication.
  • Coordinating the international working group (Student Engagement in PIR)

Communication: 

  • Creating visual materials for PIR in collaboration with the PIR Outreach & Marketing Manager
  • Timely posting on social media weekly and interacting on social media on behalf of PIR. 
  • Share with oikos communication manager, and other student organizations anything that should be communicated by them.

Event Coordination: 

  • Organize the 2021 session at the World Economic Forum (WEF) from the student side
  • Coordinate with business school leaders to maximize learning at the WEF. 

Operations: 

  • Supporting the Positive Impact Rating team in daily operations, when necessary.

  • Learning about the day-to-day working of an international organization
  • Insights about the global opportunities and challenges of international NGOs
  • Working in a multicultural, international team
  • Gaining experience in working remotely in a virtual office
  • Developing new skills and competences in a supportive environment

PIR Outreach and Marketing Manager Position Opening

Profile

  • Master’s graduate, ideally with a Business/Management studies background
  • Good understanding of the Business School environment
  • Good command of the English language
  • Good command of Office Suite and familiarity with Google Drive. 
  • Interest and commitment to the oikos vision and mission
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to anticipate needs, solve problems in a collaborative environment and sensitivity to deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task

Network management 

  • Maintaining a regular contact with partner student organizations (PSOs), reaching out to other potential PSOs
  • Maintaining contact with the growing number of schools that qualify for the rating

PIR Association & Volunteering management

  • Pro-active contact and engagement of the members of the PIR Association, including organizing regular online update-meetings
  • Organizing the annual meeting of the PIR Association (core team, key endorsers and members)
  • Collaborating closely with the PIR Student Engagement Coordinator

Survey management

  • Updating central data and preparing for survey deployment 
  • Project management and follow-up with all volunteers before and during the data collection at the schools through the students
  • Pro-active interaction with students at all schools during the data collection

Digital marketing communication management

  • Targeting the right audience, measuring KPIs and implementing the annual social media strategy, building on and growing the PIR presence online
  • Collecting content among PIR Association members to meet the social media strategy
  • Coordinating publication and digital interaction with the PIR Student Engagement Coordinator
  • Ensuring consistent communication (graphic and text)
  • Providing and/or coordinating copy writing material for student organizations, presentations, website, press releases etc.
  • Bi-weekly relevant website content updating
